Our Staff Members: Executive Director: Our Executive Director is Kay Burns. Kay graduated Indiana University at Bloomington and went on to become a dietician. She still works as one part time, while also heading this organization. Her duties include attending all meetings, with those both inside and outside the organization. Janitor: Roger Smith is our only member of the janitorial staff. He works part time to clean up after meetings. Secretary: We have one secretary, Laura Thompson who is in charge of keeping our appointments organized. Our Volunteers: Our organization depends on volunteers, as they are the hiking/canoeing guides, and also the teachers during the health portion. We do look for those with prior knowledge of either Wisconsin’s outdoors, or general health knowledge; however, it is not necessary because they are required to attend a week long training session where they learn the routes they will be taking, become CPR certified, and learn basics about a healthy lifestyle. We have two main volunteers leading these portions, but in addition to these very vital people, we also call upon a larger base for our big fundraising events, such as our walk-a-thon. |
